Why Should Farmers Switch to Organic Fertilizer?

Farmers have used chemical fertilizers for as long as we can remember. So why are so many of them switching to organic fertilizer now? They are switching because of the benefits of long term life of the produce. Why should farmers and others use organic fertilizer?

For farmers, using organic fertilizer provides many benefits. Organic fertilizer produces their produce with non-toxic foods and the soil remains much more fertile for longer. Many of the organic fertilizers the farmers use can be made locally and possibly on their own farm. This causes less money to be spent on fertilizers to promote the growth of produce. In the long run, the use of organic fertilizer will become minimal because the soil will stay healthy and fertile throughout the years.

Organic fertilizer plays a huge role in organic farming and the process of all organic foods. Organic is to create healthy nature. When growing foods, such as tomatoes and potatoes, using organic fertilizer helps promote a healthy life for the foods without using artificial fertilizers and pesticides. Organic fertilizers were at one time very hard to find but that has changed in the past couple of years. They are much easier to find at all stores just as organic food itself is much easier to find now.

Organic fertilizer is just a fertilizer made from organic or natural products. There are many different types of organic fertilizers for anyone's use. There are sprays and you can find organic soil as well. You can even find organic weed killers! Organic is the new process of many things now. Organic is much healthier for ourselves and the environment as well. A lot of the time organic fertilizers will not leave that yucky chemical residue that many of the chemical fertilizers leave behind.

Organic fertilizer allows gardeners and farmers to have healthier growing foods and plants. It promotes the plants and foods to grow without artificial ingredients which can sometimes speed up the process of growing. When growing, it is best for nature to take its course and not speed up the growing. Organic fertilizers allow the foods and plants to do this, grow at its own speed. Non-organic fertilizers allow the plants to have the nutrients immediately whereas organic fertilizers allow the plants to receive them at a slow pace. Time is needed for the microorganisms to break down the substances to promote healthy growth. This allows for the plants to grow strong and healthy and it also promotes long term strength and stability.

Of course plants cannot tell the different between organic and non-organic fertilizers. However, non-organic fertilizers have chemical imbalances that can be created over time. It is common sense that a organic fertilizer will promote healthier growth for plants and foods and should be the preferred method over non-organic fertilizers.
